So you're ready to submit that amazing picture of your child smashing birthday cake in their face when they were little? Or some other equally amazing picture? We're excited that you're ready for us to create something amazing for you. Here are some tips for submitting photos that we think are helpful for producing great results.
Submitting files that are in JPG or PNG format will yield best results. Look for the .JPG, .JPEG, or .PNG extension in the file name.
Bigger is better. If your phone or program ask you to reduce the file size or "scale" the file, choose the option for "Actual Size" or an option that does not scale the file.
Brighter is also better. We may be able to make some minor adjustments to brighten a dark image but in general images that are dark to begin with will print dark. A bright subject on a dark background is probably fine but a dark subject on a dark background will result in a dark print.
Taking photos of printed photos or photos on your computer monitor can be challenging. Ideally, scanning a printed photo is best but if you don't have a scanner give it a shot with your cell phone camera and see what it looks like. If you don't think it looks good on your screen it's probably not going to look great when printed.
You do not need to cut or "crop" your images to include only what you want printed unless you have specific elements you want eliminated before you provide your photo to us. We will use our best graphics design judgement to focus on just the key elements you tell us to include.
And, we provide free proofs to allow you to see how your item is going to be printed before we begin production.
If you are using photo editing software please avoid choosing "JPEG compression" or other options that reduce file sizes if possible. Compression can lead to decreased photo quality.
